We open blog of travels, not with our first trip, or our last, but probably our most memorable…. our trip to Egypt.  Egypt is a land of mystery, enlightenment, and magic.  Whether you are wondering the markets, walking the gardens of the Nile, or shopping on the High Street, there is something for everyone in Egypt.  With so many great memories of our time in Egypt, it only seemed fair to share them with our readers.

Come with us as we describe all the details of our trip, from how to travel into Egypt, what to bring with you, where to stay, and most importantly, what to do.  Along the way we’ll share with you our tips to saving a bit of coin to use for other exciting sights along the way.  We hope you enjoy our trip to Egypt as much as we did.  Drop us a line and tell us about your favorite memories in Egypt.

Traveling to Egypt can be handled through a number of means depending on where you are coming from in the world.  Egypt boast a rail system, modern airports, sea ports, and highways.  The important thing to remember though is that you’re going to want to work with someone in the Travel Industry with lots of experience booking tours to Egypt.  We personally recommend only staying at 5 star hotels and cruises while in Egypt.  The 5 star ratings from the Government require much stricter sanitary conditions in the areas of food preparation and facilities that can mean the difference between a great experience to Egypt versus one that leaves you indoors more than out.

Once you are in Egypt work with your hotel concierge to book local tours, find the best restaurants, and local hang outs.  Be sure to always ask for the best price and carry small coins or paper money for “Baksheesh”.  Baksheesh are tips that are expected for everything and from everyone.  The Baksheesh start on the low end for a doorman or a bathroom attendant and go higher when you get to a concierge or hotel manager.  When in doubt, ask your concierge to explain to you how the Baksheesh works so you don’t pay too much or worse yet, insult someone and pay too little!
